$10-Million For Drought Projects

Sacramento, CA — The state Assembly has passed legislation that would help homeowners reduce water usage.

The Associated Press reports the bill would extend $10-million worth of grants and low interest loans to cash-strapped homeowners that want to make drought related improvements. It could include drilling a new well, connecting homes to existing water supplies or installing systems to make contaminated groundwater safe to drink.

There was overwhelming bi-partisan support in the Assembly for the bill as it passed unanimously. It now moves onto the Senate.
