Brown To Sign Climate Change Agreement

Sacramento, CA — Governor Jerry Brown says he will sign a “Landmark Global Climate Change Agreement” today.

Brown says he is convening government leaders from around the world to sign the pact in Sacramento. It is not immediately clear who will all be in attendance. Last month Brown issued an executive order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in California by 40 percent, compared to 1990 levels, by 2030.

The Governor’s Office reports that California must continue to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from cars and trucks, make heating fuels cleaner, reduce pollutants across industries, and manage farms and rangeland to store carbon.

Details regarding the pact are expected to be released shortly before the noon hour.
