More Infromation: 5/5/15 the hours for the parks were approved as detailed here.

Sonora, CA — The Sonora City Council will vote on the hours of operation for city parks, the Dragoon Gulch Trail, and cemeteries.

Up for debate tonight is the final reading of an ordinance that would only allow residents to populate parks from 7am until 10pm, and the Dragoon Gulch Trail and cemeteries from one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset. If approved, first time violators could receive a fine up to $100. In addition, the Council will vote on the final reading of an ordinance that would amend regulations related to alcohol and marijuana use. Consumption of either would be outlawed along public streets, alleys, parks, public parking lots, sidewalks, public buildings, the Dragoon Gulch Trail, and city cemeteries.

In addition, the Council will vote on an event request for a Special Olympics procession between the Red Church and Mother Lode Fairgrounds on June 20.

Today’s meeting starts at 5pm at City Hall.
