T.U.D. To Discuss 30% Conservation Mandate

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne Utilities District will hold a public hearing Tuesday on the issue of increasing water conservation measures.

On the table is whether to implement a mandatory 30% reduction in water usage, compared to 2013 levels. Limited outdoor irrigation would be allowed, and “non-essential” water use, like washing a vehicle with a hose, would be frowned upon.

The T.U.D. Board will also hear an update on water supply, and discuss the ongoing recruitment for a new General Manager. In addition, the Board will hear the latest on the Twain Harte Lake Association’s request for water. Tuesday’s meeting starts at 5:30pm in the T.U.D. meeting room at 18885 Nugget Blvd. You can watch the meeting live in the multimedia section of myMotherLode.com.
