Two Pedestrians Hit In Sonora Accident

Sonora, CA — Two people were hit by a vehicle in downtown Sonora last night.

The Sonora Police Department closed off Washington Street, near Dodge Lane, for approximately a half hour during the nine o’clock hour. The Police Department reports that 69-year-old Steven Taylor and 67-year-old Ann Taylor, both of Twain Harte, were crossing over Washington Street in the marked crosswalk. 56-year-old Irma Bernal of Sonora was driving a 2001 Hyundai on Washington Street, and failed to see the two pedestrians. Both were struck by the vehicle and hit the pavement. Steven Taylor had the most notable injury, a large cut on his head. He sought his own medical treatment.

The Police Department notes that drugs and alcohol were not a contributing factor in the crash.
