Meeting Focused On Restoring Rim Fire Area

Sonora, CA — Rim Fire restoration will be the focus of a meeting on Tuesday afternoon.

Rim Fire Recovery spokesperson Georgia Dempsey notes that topics of discussion will include: wildlife habitat; restoring meadows; repairing or replacing recreation facilities; repairing road systems; biomass removal; the removal of burned trees; restoration of grazing allotments and the general recovery of the Rim Fire area.

The open to the public meeting will run from 12:30pm – 4:30pm at the Sonora Best Western Conference Center.

The Forest Service notes that meetings focused solely on reforestation of the Rim Fire area are tentatively scheduled for April 8th and 10th. More information is expected to be released soon.
