Council Will Vote On Roundup Street Closure

Sonora, CA — The Sonora City Council will make preparations tonight for May’s Mother Lode Roundup Parade.

On the agenda is a request to close portions of Washington Street for the May 9th event. In addition, there will be a swearing in for the two newest members of the Police Department’s Explorer Scout program, Victor Battle and Nick Cragholm. There will also be discussion about changing some building fees, and formulas for which many fees are calculated. Tonight’s meeting starts at 5pm at Sonora City Hall. It is open to the public.

Prior to tonight’s meeting, at 4:00pm, there will be a closed session. Among the multiple items, the Council will talk about the open Fire Chief position, and the ongoing Walmart litigation.
