Investigation Into Unlawful Acts

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information related to the arrest of an Oakdale man that had a long-term relationship with an underage female.

35-year-old Daniel Leon Clifton was recently taken into custody on more than 10 offenses, including unlawful intercourse with a minor, human trafficking and the manufacturing an exchanging of obscene images and videos. The relationship with the unidentified minor, who resides in Tuolumne County, lasted two years. Clifton is currently being held in Tuolumne County Jail on $500,000 bail. The Sheriff’s Office has reviewed much evidence in the case, and there is reason to believe that more than just one victim existed. Anyone with information should contact the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office at 209-694-2955.
