Vegetation Fire May Be Escaped Debris Burn

Murphys, CA — Firefighters are heading to a possible escaped debris burn in Calaveras County.

Cal Fire reports the fire is located in the 6100 block of Diltz Lane near El Camino Casale Road, West of Murphys.  The call came in around 1:30 p.m. from a resident, who stated her son was burning debris and the flames got away, according to Cal Fire.  There is no word on size, rate of spread or whether any structures are threatened at this time.  We will bring you more information as soon as it comes into the News Center.

Update 1:45 p.m.: Cal Fire reports the property owner had the fire under control by the time firefighters arrived on scene and none of the flames had escaped to any vegetation.
