Jamestown: Man Sentenced For Lewd Acts

Jamestown, CA — A man is heading to prison for committing a crime against a minor in Jamestown.

The Tuolumne County District Attorney’s Office reports that 20-year-old Harlan Luke Carter took a pair of female girls to an abandoned Jamestown home in October of 2013. He told a 17-year-old girl to wait in a room, while he took the 13-year-old to another part of the house, and forcibly committed sex acts.

Soon after, Carter departed to the Los Angeles area, and was not apprehended until March of 2014. After his arrest, he admitted to the acts, but claimed they were consensual. Carter had also been convicted of a prior strike offense in 2013, a robbery that occurred in Los Angeles County. Carter has been sentenced by Judge Donald Segerstrom to 23 years in state prison.  He will not be eligible for release until he has served over 19 years of his sentence.
