Valley Springs, CA — The CHP is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash.
CHP Officer Rebecca Myers says the crash likely occurred sometime early Sunday morning. 29-year-old Michael Rankin of Valley Springs was riding a 2007 Suzuki on Hogan Dam Road, east of Silver Rapids Road. The motorcycle went off the road, and Rankin was ejected. The Suzuki came to a rest in a grassy area, south of Hogan Dam Road.
The accident was discovered by a passerby at around 7am Sunday morning, and Rankin was pronounced dead at the scene by arriving law enforcement.
