Passes Still Closed Following First Major Snow

Sonora, CA — The three major mother lode mountain passes remain closed this morning following snow in the high country late Friday and into Saturday.

Highway 108 Sonora Pass is closed above Kennedy Meadows, Highway 4 is blocked off at the Mount Reba Turnoff and Highway 120 is closed at Crane Flat.

Of note, 10 inches of snow was recorded at the Summit of Dodge Ridge, six inches at the base. The foothill communities primarily received heavy rainfall. It is unclear when the mountain passes will reopen. We’ll pass along more information as it becomes available.
