Possible Flood Of Water Funding

Sonora, CA – We will know soon whether or not the State will be pouring more than eight million in funding into five Tuolumne County water projects.  The Tuolumne-Stanislaus Integrated Regional Water Management Authority has submitted a drought grant proposal to the Department of Water Resources (DWR).

The group reports the DWR has recommended the projects receive 100% funding.  “The recommendation of a 100% is a very good thing,” says the group’s Administrator Lindsay Mattos.  “Our score for our application was good so I am hoping we get to keep all our funding for the five projects.”  Mattos adds the final word on funding will not come for about a month.

Here is the group’s requested funding for the five projects: (The amounts listed below are not the total costs for the projects.)

Total Proposal Request (including administration): $8,131,619.00
