October Weekend Events

Several traditional fall events and a few new fundraisers are scheduled for the second weekend in October 2014.

Columbia’s 30th annual Harvest Festifall is on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. The Columbia Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring this arts and crafts fair held in Columbia State Historic Park. Local musicians and dancers will perform in the gazebo and on the street, there are fall theme activities for children, and many vendors. Details are in the event listing here.

After an absence for a number of years, the Sierra-Tuolumne Kennel Club’s All Breed Show will return to the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora. Several events and activities are planned including a Barn Hunt Association sanctioned test of dog’s vermin hunting instincts. Details about registration and activities are in the event listing.

Tuolumne County 4-H is inviting everyone to Tractor Supply in Sonora for the 4-H Fun Fair. 4-H members and adult volunteers will be on site to do craft and engineering projects with youth. More event details are here.

A King Fire Benefit Concert will be held in Murphys Saturday evening. Details on donations and the location are in the event listing.

Four other dance events in the area include: the TCWN Speakeasy Soiree to benefit the TCWN Scholarship Fund with Mistress of Ceremonies Maryann Curmi, the Snagfallers’ Ball in Arnold the Sonora Bach Festival Musical Soiree and after the Mother Lode Fall Art Show at the Opera Hall there will also be a dance.
