Moccasin, CA – Cal Fire reports the Jackson Fire near the Moccasin Point Marina is 70%  contained and remains at 68 acres.

Cal Fire Spokesperson Nancy Longmore says, “We’ve still got crews on the scene today working on the fire, strengthening the lines and doing the mop up. They’re getting all the hotspots out.”

Today there are 25 firefighters on the scene along with two engines and one hand crew. Longmore adds there is no estimated time of containment, but she says, “It’s looking really good.”

The flames broke out just before noon Thursday on Jacksonville Road at the intersection of Highway 49.
