Jackson Fire 20% Contained

Moccasin, CA — Cal Fire reports the flames are 20% contained at 60 acres.

The vegetation fire broke out at 11:51 this morning at the intersection of Highway 49 and Jacksonville Road near the Moccasin Point Marina. Ground and aircrews have been battling the blaze for more than five hours. Initially, several structures were threatened, but Cal Fire reports they were out buildings not homes and none were damaged.

Jacksonville Road is closed at River Road. The CHP reports there will be no access to Highway 120.

Update 6:30 pm: Cal Fire reports a water tender has been released from the scene.  The Fire is still 20% contained at 60 acres.
