Rock Climber Killed Near Yosemite

Yosemite, CA — A well-known rock climber was killed from a fall near Yosemite National Park.

Sebastopol resident Brad Parker had appeared on the cover of California Climber magazine in 2012, and was a veteran of the sport. The Associated Press reports Parker’s girlfriend, Jainee Dial, had accepted his marriage proposal just hours earlier, after the pair completed a climb of Cathedral Peak in Yosemite.

When he fell, Parker had been climbing without ropes, on an established route. The fall witnessed by other climbers in the area.
