And The Winner Is…

Meet Taylor Gempler, the new Miss Tuolumne County.

Gempler was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

Sixteen year old Gempler was crowned as Miss Tuolumne County on Saturday August 9th. She was competing against two other ladies for the title, sash, crown, trophy and $500 scholarship.

Gempler has lived in Tuolumne County since Kindergarten, and has lived in both Groveland and Jamestown.  Gempler will be a Junior this year at Connections Visual Performing Arts Academy in Tuolumne City.

In the future, Gempler would eventually like to own her own bakery or hair salon.

Gempler has two older sisters.

According to Gempler, a morning interview was worth the most points during the pageant. Gempler performed a jazz dance during the talent portion.

The next likely public appearance for Miss Tuolumne County will be in Groveland for the ’49er Festival and Chili Cookoff’ in September.

The KVML “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
