Rim Fire – One Year Later

Sonora, CA — It has been nearly a year since the Rim Fire ignited in the Stanislaus National Forest.

This weekend’s hour-long Mother Lode Views will focus on the lingering impact of the Rim Fire, what has been done in response, and what still lies ahead. There will be interviews with Congressman Tom McClintock and Yosemite Ranger Scott Gediman, and a panel discussion featuring Stanislaus National Forest Supervisor Susan Skalski, Tuolumne County Supervisor Randy Hanvelt and Yosemite-Stanislaus Solutions Chairman Mike Albrecht.

The Rim Fire ignited on August 17th and burned over 257,000 acres. It is the third biggest fire on record in California, and the largest ever in the Sierra Nevada.
