Fire Weather Watch For Stanislaus Forest

The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for the Stanislaus National Weather Service from Monday morning through Monday evening.

An upper level storm system is expected to move northward along the California-Nevada border Monday into Tuesday. This will bring the potential for thunderstorm activity with abundant lightning.

Erratic winds gusts are expected near thunderstorms.

It is also possible for dry lightning strikes to occur outside of thunderstorm rain cores.

Wherever there is lightning, new fire starts are possible.

Thunderstorm activity could also complicate current firefighting efforts.
