T.J. Dillashaw Day

Angels Camp, CA — As part of a homecoming celebration, the Mayor Angels Camp declared July 20 as “T.J. Dillashaw Day.”

Dillashaw, the UFC  Bantamweight champion, was greeted by over 500 people at the Bret Harte High School Auditorium Sunday afternoon, where his championship  bout was shown on the big screen, and he was presented several awards. Mayor Elaine Morris declared it “T.J. Dillashaw Day,” and County Supervisor Debbie Ponte presented Dillashaw with a gift of Brazilian Crystal. Several of Dillashaw’s High School wrestling coaches also spoke about his past victories and early career.

Several additional fans waited in the high school’s multipurpose room afterwards for a chance to get a photo and autograph of the Mother Lode native.

A special thanks to community news partner Diane Gray for sending in photos from the event.
