Sonora, CA — Life is not always fast pace in the Mother Lode. Motorists learned that this morning when they faced a unique roadblock. A tortoise took its time crossing Phoenix Lake Road near Meadow Brook Drive this morning around 9:00 am. Traffic came to a standstill as patient motorists let the turtle take its time getting to the other side.
