AB-109 And Lodge Project On Agenda

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors will vote on the AB-109 budget, and hear about changes proposed for a lodging project.

The Board will vote on a $1.9 million budget for the Community Corrections Partnership Plan. It is the local AB-109, prisoner realignment effort. One of the changes includes increasing the spending for electronic monitoring by $50,000. In addition there will be $20,000 spent on specialized training for Sheriff’s Office and Probation Department Staff.

Also on Tuesday, the County will vote on changes proposed for the Rush Creek Lodge project, which would be situated on Highway 120 near Hardin Flat Road. The project went through the county review process for several years, and calls for 143 lodging units, conference facilities and a restaurant and bar. In January, the county was successful in obtaining a low interest small business loan for the project through a Community Development Block Grant Program.

However, a portion of the project site was burned by the Rim Fire. Because of this, the developers are requesting some changes to the zoning in order to avoid the burned area and still accommodate the design.

Tuesday’s meeting starts at 9am.
