Acreage Drops In Vegetation Fire

Moccasin, CA — Cal Fire reports crews are making progress on the blaze on Highway 49 near the Moccasin Creek Trout Hatchery and Marshes Flat Road.  The acreage has dropped.  Initial reports had the size of the fire at 30 to 40 acres. Cal Fire has now decreased that number to 20 to 25 acres.  Cal Fire reports that dozers are 2/3 of the way around the flames.

Update 4:30 pm: Cal Fire reports Columbia Air Attack has been called off the fire and is returning to base.
