35 Acre Mariposa County Fire: Evacuations

Mariposa, CA — A fire in Mariposa County has prompted evacuations in the Hunters Valley area.

The “Valley Fire” is off Hunters Valley Road near the southeast shore of Lake McClure. It is 35 acres. The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that an evacuation order has been called for portions of Bear Valley Road and Hunters Valley Road. An evacuation center is up and running at the Catheys Valley Baptist Church at 4565 Cornetts Entrance Road. It is being operated by the Red Cross. The fire is in the same region where the 600+ acre Hunters Fire started on Memorial Day.
