Truck Vs Motorcycle

Jamestown, CA — A Groveland man suffered major injuries in a motorcycle crash in Jamestown.  The wreck happened yesterday on Highway 49 north of Fifth Avenue.

The CHP reports 48-year-old Ronald Hessler was driving a Honda motorcycle northbound on the highway at about 40 mph when he smashed into the back end of a Chevy pickup.  The truck was driven by 35-year-old Jerry Hathcoat of Sonora.

The CHP reports traffic had slowed to a stop and Hessler was unable to stop his motorcycle before rear-ending Hathcoat’s pickup. Hessler was thrown from the bike, which landed in the northbound lane blocking traffic. Hessler was taken by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center with a broken wrist and complaining of hip pain.

The CHP says drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
