Emergency Response Kept Busy

Emergency crews tackled a fire and two accidents all in the eleven o’clock hour this morning in both Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties.

Air and ground resources were called to a vegetation fire in Calaveras County. The flames broke out in the Jesus Maria Road area of Railroad Flat.  Firefighters made quick work of the blaze and got it contained in about a half hour at half an acre in size.

Also, a traffic hazard on Highway 108 near O’Byrnes Ferry Road slowed traffic. A big rig truck dropped some lumber onto the highway.  The CHP was able clear the roadway in about an hour.

In addition, emergency crews responded to a traffic accident on Mono Way near Hospital Road, in front of Clark Pest Control. Traffic was slowed for about a half an hour as crews cleared the debris.
