Cassina Employee Arrested

Sonora, CA – An employee at a local high school was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Sonora Police Chief Mark Stinson says 61-year-old Anne Lavine was arrested on April 30th at around 1:15pm. She was arrested at Dario Cassina High School and taken to Tuolumne County Jail. The type of substance used is not immediately clear, but the Police Department indicates that it appeared to be some type of a central nervous system stimulant.

Cassina High School is in the Sonora Union High School District. Superintendent Dr. Mike McCoy said he is not able to comment on personnel matters. He did say, “We have solid policies in place that support a safe environment for all students.”

The District’s website lists Lavine as being one of the Campus Supervisors for School Services. It is unclear if she is still employed with the district.
