Angels Camp Man Hurt In Crash

Angels Camp, CA — An Angels Camp man suffered major injuries in a car accident yesterday morning on Highway 49.

The CHP reports that 21-year-old Joseph Ryan Azevedo was driving a 2001 Volkswagen just south of Jackass Hill Road when he lost control going into a curve. It was raining at the time, and the CHP says the car was going about 45 mph in a 25 mph zone. The car went off the road and collided with a tree and wire fence. The CHP reports that Azevedo was taken away by ambulance to treat major head trauma. The crash was reported at 8:05am.
