Vandals Hit Old Priest Grade

Tuolumne County, CA — Not only were several speed signs tagged along the roadway, but also a guardrail.

The vandals used red and white spray paint to mark the signs along Old Priest Grade. Tuolumne County Community Resource Agency Deputy Director Duke York believes the signs were hit on April 13.

“It’s a real nuisance,” says York, “We’ve subsequently gone in and repaired the signs. The materials and the labor to do that work; we’re talking about $1,419. It’s unfortunate that somebody chooses to put that burden on all of Tuolumne County.”

York says the markings were not gang related. If you have any information on the incident, you are asked to call the Roads Division at (209) 533-5633 or the Sheriff’s Department.
