Expect Cold April Showers

A cold Pacific storm will affect the region from late Thursday into early Saturday.

Precipitation will spread over northern California from late Thursday into Friday. Thunderstorms are possible on Friday and Friday evening with heavy rain, small hail, and gusty wind.

Decreasing showers are expected Saturday with lingering chances mainly over the mountains through the weekend.

Snow levels will begin around 6000 through 7000 feet on Thursday, lowering to 4500 through 5500 feet on Friday and then 3500 through 4500 feet by early Saturday.

Precipitation amounts will be around half an inch or less in the central valley with higher amounts possible in the foothills and mountains and with thunderstorms.

Snow amounts will range from six to twelve inches over the higher mountain terrain.
