Firefighters Support Challenger

San Andreas, CA — A second group has endorsed the challenger in the hotly contested  race for Calaveras County Sheriff.  The Calaveras Consolidated Firefighters’ Association is backing challenger Pat Garrahan instead of incumbent Sheriff Gary Kuntz.

In March, the Calaveras County Deputy Sheriff’s Association’s also sided with Garrahan.  Both groups cited his 30 years of experience as a police lieutenant and his Marine Corps background as reasons for their support.

Here is the statement released by the firefighters association in support of Garrahan:

“We are confident that Mr. Garrahan’s extensive experience and education will enhance emergency services through new collaborative efforts never before seen here in Calaveras County. As firefighters, we recognize the value of effective interoperability while engaged in emergency situations.”
