Sierra Nevada Winter Storm Warning Update

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the Sierra Nevada above 5500 feet through 8 AM Sunday.

Five inches to two feet of snow accumulation is expected above 5500 feet.

Snow levels currently range from 6000 through 6500 feet. By tonight, the snow levels will lower to 5000 through 5500 feet. Snow levels will end Sunday morning at 4000 feet.

Winds of fifteen to twenty-five mph will continue with gusts ranging up to fifty-five mph along the crest of the Sierra.

Additionally, The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada above 5000 feet from Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening.

One to two feet of snow accumulation is expected at and above 5000 feet.
