Local Bank Closed Due To Flooding

Sonora, CA — The Bank of America near Standard Road on Mono Way is shut down because their parking lot is full of water.

Bank employees say they hope to have the problem resolved before noon today.

It is not known why the parking lot became flooded. Employees say they used to have flooding issues when it snowed. They noted that a new retaining wall and all new drainage were put in just one year ago. The contractor who did that project is expected to return and find out why there is a problem today. There is already a repair person on site who expects to have the water drained away soon.

Customers are being referred to the Bank of America located off of Washington street in downtown Sonora until the bank reopens.
