Irish Day Parade Grand Marshal

Murphys, CA — A recently retired Judge will be the Grand Marshal of the upcoming Murphys Irish Day parade.


The event committee has announced that the Honorable Douglas V. Mewhinney will lead the parade, which starts on Saturday, March 15, at 11am.


Judge Mewhinney was honored to be selected. He says “The Murphys Irish Day parade exemplifies the rich local traditions that make Calaveras County such a wonderful place to live and work.”


Mewhinney became the Deputy Calaveras County District Attorney in 1977, later became District Attorney, and eventually a Superior Court Judge. Murphys Irish Day is put on each year by the Murphys Business Association.
