Calaveras Candidates Ready For June Election

San Andreas, CA — The list of Calaveras candidates on the local June 3 primary ballot is holding steady at 24. The deadline to turn in paperwork is March 7 for many races. The filing period for Angels Camp City Council is July 14 through August 8.

State and District Offices up for election include: Governor, which Robert Newman and Tim Donnelly have filed for. Current Gov. Jerry Brown has stated he will run. Tom Berryhill has filed for Legislative State Senate District 8.

Other offices also up for election: Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Controller, Treasurer, Attorney General, Insurance Commissioner and Board of Equalization Member District 1, Congressional United States Representative District 4, State Assembly Member District 5, and the nonpartisan office Superintendent of Public Instruction.

All candidates listed have to complete and file paperwork to be certified for the June ballot.
