Paying Tribute To Rick Roberts

Sonora, CA — Friends and family members are organizing a candlelight vigil for Rick Roberts.

The vigil will begin at 7pm, Sunday, outside his auto body shop at 280 Mono Way. Roberts was found dead at the shop last Sunday morning, and the Sonora Police Department has been investigating the homicide. Police Chief Mark Stinson said this morning that there is no new information to report related to the investigation. An autopsy was conducted yesterday afternoon, and no arrests have been made to this point.

Roberts was a well-known figure in the community, having volunteered with the Police Department, his church and being active in the local demolition derby scene at the fairgrounds.

A memorial service for Roberts is still being planned.
