Columbia College’s Accreditation Reaffirmed

Columbia, CA — Columbia College has received some positive news from the Accrediting Commission for Community and Jr. Colleges.

Columbia College is officially removed from “warning status,” and has had its accreditation reaffirmed. Columbia President Dr. Angela Fairchilds says, “The news of reaffirmation of accreditation was received with elation at Columbia College. The faculty, staff, and administration have worked diligently to address the recommendations from the evaluation team and make the necessary improvements.”

The school reports that accreditation is granted to educational institutions, certifying that they meet or exceed specific standards of quality. At Columbia, all standards are now met or surpassed.

Modesto Junior College has also now had its accreditation reaffirmed. It had been on the more severe “probation status.”
