Man Arrested For Having Sex With A Minor

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office reports a Sonora man has been arrested on sex and drug charges. 39-year-old Kenneth Richard McLeod was arrested yesterday after detectives searched his home and work place, McCloud’s Pet Emporium in the Junction Shopping Center. Detectives say the searches were part of an ongoing investigation centered on an alleged sexual relationship between McLeod and a sixteen-year-old female victim.

At the home, on the 16000 block of Creekside Drive deputies seized McLeod’s computer, cell phone and all digital media. In addition, the Tuolumne County Narcotics Team seized 13 pounds of marijuana.

McLeod faces several felony charges including child molestation, sex with a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor. Narcotics officials report the drug charges are pending at this time. Investigators say both McLeod’s sex and drug activities are still under investigation. They are asking, if you have any information on either to please contact Sheriff’s Detective Brandon Lowry at (209) 694-2955.

McLeod’s bail was set at $200,000.
