Sierra Nevada Winter Storm Watch Issued

A series of storm systems will affect the Sierra Nevada for the rest of the week.

The first system will arrive Thursday morning and continue into Thursday night. Low snow levels and a few inches of snow accumulation is likely with this system.

Additionally, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada above 5000 feet from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening.

Up to eight inches of snow accumulation is anticipated at 5000 feet. Snow levels will then rise above 6000 feet on Saturday. One to two feet of snow is expected in the highest elevations.
