Tuolumne County, CA — The CHP has released the name of a La Grange woman who died in a fatal crash at the Highway 120 and Sims Road intersection.
19-year-old Grace Alice Doty was driving a 1998 Toyota pickup truck on Sims Road and was at the stop sign at the Highway 120 intersection. The CHP reports that, for an unknown reason, Doty drove into the intersection, right into the path of a big rig truck driven by 68-year-old David Wainwright of Groveland. Wainwright slammed on the brakes, but could not avoid a collision with the pickup. The two vehicles then ended up in a nearby field.
The CHP does not suspect that there were any drugs or alcohol that contributed to the crash. An investigation into the accident is ongoing. It occurred at 3:20pm.
