Early Christmas Gift From California’s Governor

Sacramento, CA – Governor Jerry Brown has granted 127 pardons to Californians.

The Governor’s Office reported all the people that received pardons have completed their sentences. All have been out of prison for more than a decade with no reports of any additional criminal activity.

In California, anyone convicted of a crime can apply for a Governor’s Pardon. Most have already received a Certificate of Rehabilitation, which is a superior court order declaring the person to be rehabilitated, in order to get the pardon. Also, the Governor’s Office says they must have demonstrated exemplary behavior and been productive and law-abiding citizens following their conviction.
