Traffic Alert In Sonora

Sonora, CA — Motorists you will want to avoid South Washington Street as a bus is disabled and partially in the roadway.

The driver was turning into the Inns of California when the bus became stuck due to the parking lot incline and the drive wheels are no longer in contact with the ground. A Sonora Police Officer is directing traffic and detouring motorists to Gold Street and then to Stewart Street. Traffic is backed up as tow crews work to free the bus.

Update 4:45 p.m.: SPD reports the roadway has been cleared and traffic is moving freely once again.
