Fowler Murder Trial Set

San Andreas, CA — A trial date has been set for the brother accused of killing 8-year-old Leila Fowler. 13-year-old Isaiah Fowler was back in a San Andreas courtroom yesterday where the Judge set his jurisdictional hearing for March 5th at 9 am. Calaveras County District Attorney’s office says the hearing could take three weeks.

Fowler was last in court on September 18th. At that time, his Attorney Mark Reichel asked the judge to push back the hearing for eight weeks so they could complete their investigation.

Fowler will also be back in court on December 4th to schedule any pre-trial hearing motions which could include his attorney asking for some evidence to be excluded from the trial.

Leila Fowler was murdered inside their Valley Springs area home on April 27th, and the autopsy revealed that she died from multiple stab wounds. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office investigation found that the brother and sister were the only two in the home at the time.
