Caltrans Drain Cleaning May Slow Traffic

Sonora, CA — Caltrans is warning that there will be some delays on the roadways this week.

Tomorrow, Tuesday November 5th through the rest of the week, on Highway 108, crews will be cleaning drainage areas. As they clean the drains traffic will be restricted to one-way. The work will be done between the hours of 9am and 2:30pm. Caltrans expects traffic delays of up to five minutes from Bakers Station to the Sonora Pass.

More drainage cleaning, also on Tuesday, is expected to cause 10 minute delays on highway 120 between Highway 49 and Ferndale Road. On Wednesday and Thursday the drainage cleaning will continue on Highway 120 from Ferndale Road to Old Priest Grade. The minimal delays due to the work are expected between 9am and 4pm.

Today through the rest of the week on Highway 120, crews will be doing emergency work from Big Oak Sidehill Viaduct to the West Boundary of Yosemite National Park. The work is expected to delay traffic for five minutes between 7am and 4pm.

In Calaveras County there will also be some emergency work along Highway 12 at North Fork Calaveras River. Delays of 5 minutes can be expected today through Wednesday between 7am and 5pm.
