A Colorful Tribute

Sonora, CA– If you head to the Sonora Farmers’ Market you cannot miss the bright colorful mural honoring “Ed, the Flower Guy”. Plenty of people came out to the mural dedication Saturday morning in downtown Sonora off of Stewart Street.

Last weekend, more than 50 artists used over 200 pounds of paint on aluminum panels mounted to the wall to bring the mural to life. It hangs in the spot where Ed Rodriguez sold his flowers for many years. He was killed in car crash going home from the market last year on Highway 49 near Angels Camp in Calaveras County. The mural was approved by the City earlier this year. Mural Designer Judy Grossman says it took a lot of hard work, supplies and love.

If you want to get a look at the mural you can head to the Sonora Farmers’ Market Site at 105 S. Stewart Street.
