Red Flag Warning Extended

The National Weather Service has extended the Red Flag Warning for the Stanislaus National Forest through 11 am Saturday.

Low pressure approaching the coast will bring a period of low humidity and gusty winds to the Sierra Nevada.

* Winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* Relative humidity as low as 15 percent gradually rising to 40 to 50% by Saturday morning.

* Gusty winds, low humidity and dry fuels can lead to critical fire behavior.

Humidity will increase with areas of rain expected to spread eastward over northern California later tonight and Saturday.
