Head-on Crash Injures Two

Murphys, CA — Two women were injured in a head-on collision on Highway 4 in Calaveras County. The wreck happened around 8:45am yesterday on Highway 4 near Mitchler Street in Murphys.

The CHP reports 53 year-old Julia Lei of Murphys was driving a 2011 Subaru Forester eastbound on the highway when she allowed her car to cross over the double yellow lines and smash into 79 year-old Theresa Doleschal of Arnold driving a 1995 Subaru Legacy. The CHP says Lei cited fatigue as the reason for crossing into oncoming traffic.

Both women were taken to Mark Twain Medical Center suffering from moderate injuries.
