Overturned Trailer Highway 108

Sonora, CA — There is an overturned truck and trailer on highway 108 and Stockton Street. The CHP reports a pick-up pulling a trailer overturned on Highway 108. Debris from the trailer and a small oil spill is blocking both of the westbound lanes of 108. Traffic is backed up so motorists may want to avoid the area.

Update 5:30pm: The CHP reports were no injuries in the crash. Emergency crews are working on cleaning up the oil slick which covers about a 50 to 100 foot stretch on the roadway. The CHP says motorists are being allowed to use the shoulder of the westbound lane to get by, but it is slow going and traffic is backed up. Motorists may want to avoid the area by taking Lime Kiln Road instead.

Update 6:05pm: The CHP warns traffic is backed up to Highway 108 and Lime Kiln Road. Also, they report the stoplight is not working properly at this time.

Update 6:15pm: The CHP is closing down the intersection for 15 minutes to allow crews to upright the overturned trailer. Traffic is still backed up so motorists will want to avoid the area.
