Interfaith Collecting Items For Evacuees

Many people are asking how they can help those that have been evacuated due to the Rim Fire.

The Red Cross has an emergency shelter at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds, but they do not want items dropped off at that location.

“The Red Cross has asked us to support them in receiving donations for people that are at the fairgrounds at the shelter,” says Cathie Peacock, Director of Interfaith Social Services. “Interfaith is set up to receive items, particularly food, clothing that is not soiled and wearable now, and toiletry items.”

Interfaith will be open each day this week from 9am-2pm. They are also looking for volunteers interested in helping out in various ways. Interfaith is located at 18500 Striker Court. They can be reached by calling 209-532-0905.
